Mark 4:21-25
21 Then Jesus asked them, “Would anyone light a lamp and then put it under a basket or under a bed to shut out the light? Of course not! A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light will shine. 22 “Everything that is now hidden or secret will eventually be brought to light. 23 Anyone who is willing to hear should listen and understand! 24 And be sure to pay attention to what you hear. The more you do this, the more you will understand-and even more, besides. 25 To those who are open to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But to those who are not listening, even what they have will be taken away from them.”

The light of the truth about Jesus Christ in our lives should not be hidden.  If we say we love Him, we will obey Him and it will show.  Only as we put God’s teachings into practice will we understand and see more truth. The truth is always clear but our vision may be clouded because we have not applied other truth He has revealed to us.  Our ability to understand may be clouded by our disbelief and that we have not applied what He has already revealed. It is in the applying of God’s understanding that we learn and grow. James 1:22-25 states, “And remember, it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. If you don’t obey, you are only fooling yourself. 23 For if you just listen and don’t obey, it is like looking at your face in a mirror but doing nothing to improve your appearance. 24 You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. 25 But if you keep looking steadily into God’s perfect law-the law that sets you free-and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.”  As we understand His Word we should obey and walk in the truth of what we understand by applying it to our behaviors and attitudes. Our vision then becomes clearer to increase our understanding of more of God’s Word.  What truth has Christ revealed to you?  Apply it, obey it and walk in it and He will give you more understanding.

Have a God Day!
