1 John 3:18-24
18 Dear children, let us stop just saying we love each other; let us really show it by our actions. 19 It is by our actions that we know we are living in the truth, so we will be confident when we stand before the Lord, 20 even if our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.  21 Dear friends, if our conscience is clear, we can come to God with bold confidence. 22 And we will receive whatever we request because we obey him and do the things that please him. 23 And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us. 24 Those who obey God’s commandments live in fellowship with him, and he with them. And we know he lives in us because the Holy Spirit lives in us.

Our behavior verifies who sits on the throne of our hearts and minds.  And our behavior is a reflection of what we think.  And our thinking determines how we feel.  Maturity means we can behave outside of what we think and what we feel.  John is telling us that Christ is evident in our lives when our actions are in line with the Word of God, even if we don’t “feel” it in our hearts.  If you are living for God but don’t “feel” the power of the Spirit at work within you, act on your knowledge of the Word of God.  If you move forward and act on the truth of His Word, you will eventually “feel” it.  But our feelings are not as important as our actions.  God is greater than our feelings and He knows everything about us.  So take action on the instructions of the Word whether you “feel” like it or not and then you will know that you are living in His truth.  Show your love to God by your actions.  Remember, real love is an action not a feeling.  And it is our actions more than our words that tell others and God that we love them.

Have a God Day!
