Colossians 4:2-6
2 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. 3 Don’t forget to pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to preach about his secret plan that Christ is also for you Gentiles. That is why I am here in chains. 4 Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. 5 Live wisely among those who are not Christians, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and effective so that you will have the right answer for everyone.

Prayer is central to the development of Christ in you. It is the only way for the Holy Spirit to fill your heart and mind with Him. It is mentioned repeatedly in the New Testament. Pray diligently being watchful. What are we watching for? 1 Peter 5:8 tells us, “Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to devour.” Satan is looking for holes in your Christian walk. When we are not covered with prayer, there are holes in our armor. Satan sends darts through these holes to tempt us or discourage us. He knows our weakest spot and he will send arrows through our holes right into our weaknesses. So cover your life with prayer so you will not be open to attacks. Anyone who proclaims Christ but does not spend time with Him will be easily defeated. Take a look at what is happening in your life. Are you constantly fighting sin and discouragement? Then take a look at your connection to Christ. If you are lacking in reading His Word and spending time with Him, then you are not living a victorious life. Focus on knowing Him and knowing His Word. Pray daily and pray thankfully. Remind God of all the good things He has done for you. And pray specifically, ask God for exactly what you need. Pray to put up your armor for protection from the enemy.

Have a God day!
