Jesus said in John 10:9-11
9 “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” 10 “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. ”
The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

If you are not living life in joy and peace, then the thief is robbing you. The Christian life is one of joy and comfort in a world of pain and suffering.  Does this mean that the Christian is exempt for troubles? Certainly not! Christians are subject to the laws of this world just like any other person.  That means the minute we are born, we start to die.  Today you are one day closer to death than you were yesterday.  The Bible tells us in Matthew 5:45, “For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and on the unjust, too.”  Being a child of Christ does not prevent the sickness and problems this world can bring, but it does give you a source of comfort.  Paul stated in Philippians 4:11, “For I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.”  The person committed to Christ is learning to trust in Him through all the good times as well as the bad.  You will always have problems, but Christ has promised to help you and to meet your need.  Start today by giving your concerns to him and then resting in knowing that He is with you.
