James 4:7
7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, you hypocrites. 9 Let there be tears for the wrong things you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. 10 When you bow down before the Lord and admit your dependence on him, he will lift you up and give you honor.

Anytime you find yourself away from God it is because you have moved. When you find yourself not feeling connected to God or to His people it is always because you have turned another way. The Spirit of God is always working in your life to draw you to God, but He will not stop you from moving away. When you have no connection to God through His Word or prayer or His people you have turned away from Him. John 14-17: states, “16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world at large cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you do, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.” Once you accept Christ as your Savior, the Spirit of God lives in you, but you can turn from His direction and not feel connected. It doesn’t mean that you are not saved or that God has left you, it means you have tuned away from Him. If you find yourself in this place today all you need to do is recognize your place and turn around, because He is right there and has never left you. Go to His word and learn more about Him. The more you know Him, the more you will be like Him. Go to His people, His body and connect to those who know Him. God is always there to begin again, He will not turn away from you because of His great love for you. His mercy is new every morning. He is waiting right now to hear you call Him Lord and ask for His help. He will never turn away from you, no matter what you have done. There is grace and forgiveness at the foot of the cross. So, don’t wait a minute longer, you know in your heart when you are tuning away from Him and you will know in your joy and peace when you have turned back to Him and are on back in the process of Him making you a useful servant.

Have a God Day!
