Do associate with people who indulge in sexual sin.
1 Corinthians 5:9-13
9 When I wrote to you before, I told you not to associate with people who indulge in sexual sin. 10 But I wasn’t talking about unbelievers who indulge in sexual sin, or who are greedy or are swindlers or idol worshipers. You would have to leave this world to avoid people like that. 11 What I meant was that you are not to associate with anyone who claims to be a Christian yet indulges in sexual sin, or is greedy, or worships idols, or is abusive, or a drunkard, or a swindler. Don’t even eat with such people. 12 It isn’t my responsibility to judge outsiders, but it certainly is your job to judge those inside the church who are sinning in these ways. 13 God will judge those on the outside; but as the Scriptures say, “You must remove the evil person from among you.”
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.
This scripture will become more important to the Church as we move ahead in this world. We are seeing the move of homosexuality into the church. Many church organizations today are stating that sex between a man and a man or a women and a woman is not sin. To make their sin even more evil they are bringing it into the church and stating that they can be Christians and be homosexual. This is blatant sin. Scripture is very clear that any sex outside of man-woman marriage is sin. Yes you can read about all kinds of sexual sin in the Bible, but it documented as sin and is never condoned by God and is always judged by Him. The Word of God is very clear about what sin is! 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 is very clear about homosexual sin, “9 Don’t you know that those who do wrong will have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, 10 thieves, greedy people, drunkards, abusers, and swindlers-none of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God.”
Those who pick and choose which parts of the Bible are from God and which parts are not are only fooling themselves and those they lead into their deception. God will say to these, “Depart from Me, I never knew you!” A true believer of Jesus Christ will not agree to any sin in the Church. There will be churches who will allow sin into their organizations but Christ will not be among them. In Christ’ message to the church in Revelations 2:14-16, He stated that sexual sin would be allowed into the church by people not by God, and this is what He had to say to them, “14 And yet I have a few complaints against you. You tolerate some among you who are like Balaam, who showed Balak how to trip up the people of Israel. He taught them to worship idols by eating food offered to idols and by committing sexual sin. 15 In the same way, you have some Nicolaitans among you-people who follow the same teaching and commit the same sins. 16 Repent, or I will come to you suddenly and fight against them with the sword of my mouth.”
Do not be fooled by the world, God not does now or ever will allow sexual sin between two men or two women. This type of sex is always sin and will be judged by Him. Corinthians is very clear we can not allow those who sin in such a way and say they belong to Christ to be a part of our church. Those who are in Christ Jesus are to not even eat with them. This does not mean we are to separate ourselves from them completely, but we are not to worship our God with them. We are to respect all people regardless of their belief, but we do not agree with them regarding their sin and we do not worship with them. If this is happening in your church, you have two choices; remove the sin or remove yourself from the church. Don’t be fooled by sinners message of love and acceptance of all beliefs, this is not what the Bible teaches and is not of God. We are to love all people, but we are to hate sin and not tolerate it or we may be infected by it. Learn from the Israelites, they did not get rid of all the people who worshipped idols and paid dearly for it. They lost their land and their position with God.
Have a God Day!
