Genesis 15:4
4 Then the Lord said to him, No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own to inherit everything I am giving you. 5 Then the Lord brought Abram outside beneath the night sky and told him, Look up into the heavens and count the stars if you can. Your descendants will be like that too many to count! 6 And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord declared him righteous because of his faith. 7 Then the Lord told him, I am the Lord who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land.

Our faith is the most precious thing we have.  Without faith it is impossible to please God. Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord declared him righteous because of his faith. Abrams’ faith, not his actions are what made him right before God. A right relationship is based on faith in knowing that God is who He said He is and the He does what He says He will do. Our outward actions will not by themselves make us right with God. But right actions are the outcome of a right relationship with God. Abram, later renamed Abraham, is the father of faith because he believed God. All the world was blessed because of his faith. The Jewish nation came from Abraham and out of the Jewish nation came Christ. So all the world is blessed because of Abraham’s faith. If Abraham could believe that he would be blessed with a child at the age of 99, so we can believe in the written Word of God that is so readily available to us. Believe God by trusting in His promises.

Have a God day!
