1 Corinthians 15:45-49

45 The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.” But the last Adam-that is, Christ-is a life-giving Spirit. 46 What came first was the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later. 47 Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven. 48 Every human being has an earthly body just like Adam’s, but our heavenly bodies will be just like Christ’s. 49 Just as we are now like Adam, the man of the earth, so we will someday be like Christ, the man from heaven.

As we live in our earthly bodies, we are like Adam, made of dust. But as a Christian we are also in the process of becoming like Christ. Because of the love God has for us, He wants us to be like His Son. God knows every detail of our lives that will bring us to this end. And that is the only assignment that God will grade when we stand before Him. How much like Christ did we become while we lived in this sinful world. God the Father loves the Son so much that He wants all of His children to conform into His image. This is the only goal God has for our lives. When God tells us in Romans 8:28, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” He is telling us that becoming like Christ is His only purpose for all those who love Him. And everything that happens to us, God will work to this end. Nothing else we do will matter, as all things will work for our good to bring us to the purpose that God has for our life, to be like Christ. Everything we do and everything we are is to be focused on becoming like Him Who died for us and not staying like the dust we are. God loves us so much, just like He loves the Son because we His body, we are joint heirs with Christ if we are in Him. If we are a part of Christ we share the same DNA and God will stop at nothing to make us into His image. One day we will be like Him. All of our life is directed towards this goal. Becoming like Christ is God’s purpose for us and we should be mindful of this at all time. Just as we are mindful of our earthly presence, we should be mindful of the heavenly presence that lives in us to accomplish the will of the Father, for us to be like Christ.

Have a God Day!
