Three keys to breaking down strongholds in your mind. Change your thinking to God’s way of thinking.

1. Know your position in Christ!
Matthew 16:19
19 “I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

John 14:13-14
13 “You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, because the work of the Son brings glory to the Father. 14 Yes, ask anything in my name, and I will do it!”

Under our own authority we have no power and remember we are not dealing with flesh but with fallen angels who have more power than we do, but we have been given power under the name of Jesus Christ. When Christ went to the cross as a man, He defeated the authority of Satan in this world. The authority that he stole from us in the garden. Christ has all authority and as believers we have it under His name. In Jesus name we can bind Satan and rebuke him from trying to deceive us.

2. Use the Word of God.
Matthew 4:1-4
Then Jesus was led out into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit to be tempted there by the Devil. 2 For forty days and forty nights he ate nothing and became very hungry. 3 Then the Devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, change these stones into loaves of bread.” 4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People need more than bread for their life; they must feed on every word of God.'”

We are to follow Jesus’ example when we struggle with a stronghold in our minds. When lies come to our mind that are not from God, we are to remember the Word and speak it. Jesus was not using His power as God, but was acting as man and in a weaken condition, when Satan came to Him, but Christ used the Word as a sword and quickly rebuked the Devil. We are to do the same. Remember, even a good thought that goes against the Word of God can come from Satan and should be rebuked. We use the Word as a sword to fight the battle. Ask God to give you wisdom to know where the thought is coming from.

3. Keep fighting and do not give up!
Matthew 7:7-8 “Keep on asking, and you will be given what you ask for. Keep on looking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. 8 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And the door is opened to everyone who knocks.”

Do not give up! What ever it is that you are trying to overcome, will be defeated. The victory is yours, Christ has given it to you. Each time you come up against it, walls break down. Keep breaking them down until the sin is gone from your life. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean to your own understanding!

Have a God Day!
