Matthew 12:33-37
33 “A tree is identified by its fruit. Make a tree good, and its fruit will be good. Make a tree bad, and its fruit will be bad. 34 You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. 35 A good person produces good words from a good heart, and an evil person produces evil words from an evil heart. 36 And I tell you this, that you must give an account on judgment day of every idle word you speak. 37 The words you say now reflect your fate then; either you will be justified by them or you will be condemned.”
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

The old saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me” is not true. Words will hurt you. The words that you say and the words that are said to you will affect you. So, we need to be careful of what we say and how we say it. Christ tells us that what is really in a person’s heart will come out in what they say. A good heart will produce good words and an evil heart will produce evil. If you have the Spirit of God living in you by accepting Christ as Lord and Savior, then you have a good heart. That means giving control of your life to God, and as you do this, His words will come through you. You cannot hide what is really in your heart, it will come out in what you say. If you are growing more in the Lord than it will be reflected in what you say. As you spend time with Him and read His Word, you will reflect more of Him in what you say. This is our mission as followers of Christ, to become more like Him. It will show in what you say. Do not get discouraged if you do not show Him all the time. Just recognize your error, ask for forgiveness and continue on according to His Word. Your words have more power than you know, so use them to declare who God is making you into and not who you are at the moment of failure. Continue to speak the truth and it will be reflected in your behavior.

Have a God Day!

Matthew 7:21-27
21 “Not all people who sound religious are really godly. They may refer to me as ‘Lord,’ but they still won’t enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The decisive issue is whether they obey my Father in heaven. 22 On judgment day many will tell me, ‘Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Go away; the things you did were unauthorized.’ 24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and obeys me is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse, because it is built on rock. 26 But anyone who hears my teaching and ignores it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will fall with a mighty crash.”
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

There will come a day for each of us, when every action, every thought, and every word will have to stand before the Lord. We will have to give account for the things that we said, did, and thought in this life. For those who are covered by the Blood of Christ, this will not include our sin only the work we did for the Lord. But for everyone else, every deed, every word, every thought will come under the judgment of God. And many call Him “Lord” but He will say, “Depart from me, I never knew you.” The issue is not that they knew about Christ but did they believed in Him and obeyed the Father in heaven. Christ wants us to do what is right not just say it. What you do cannot be separated from what you believe. And what you give to others will show what you believe. Those who just “know” about Christ but do not “live” Christ will have to stand before Him in judgment. On that day only our relationship with Christ, our acceptance of Him as Lord and Savior and our obedience to Him will matter. Being “good” will have nothing to do with it. Practice obedience to “live” Christ to the world around you and you will hear from Him, “Well done my good and faithful servant!”

Have a God Day!

1 Corinthians 15:40-44
40 There are bodies in the heavens, and there are bodies on earth. The glory of the heavenly bodies is different from the beauty of the earthly bodies. 41 The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their beauty and brightness. 42 It is the same way for the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies, which die and decay, will be different when they are resurrected, for they will never die. 43 Our bodies now disappoint us, but when they are raised, they will be full of glory. They are weak now, but when they are raised, they will be full of power. 44 They are natural human bodies now, but when they are raised, they will be spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, so also there are spiritual bodies.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

Because Christ rose from the dead, He is a life-giving Spirit. This means that He entered into a new form of existence from His human body. He is the source of the spiritual life that will result in our resurrection. Christ’s new glorified human body was suitable to His natural life. He walked and talked and lived as a human after He rose from the dead. His disciples did not always know Him as Jesus, but they knew Him as a human because that was the form His resurrected body was in. And so it will be for those of us who believe in the work He did on the cross. When we are resurrected, God will give us a transformed eternal body suited to our new eternal life. So when this body you are in now fails you, remember it is just dust and will one day be gone. It just houses your spirit and will one day return to the earth. But you will go on forever and Christ will give you a new body that is not corrupted and will never get sick or die. So face the limitations of this body with the confidence that one day you will have a body that will never get old and never get sick. Praise His name forever!

Have a God Day!

John 12:37-43
37 But despite all the miraculous signs he had done, most of the people did not believe in him. 38 This is exactly what Isaiah the prophet had predicted: “Lord, who has believed our message? To whom will the Lord reveal his saving power?” 39 But the people couldn’t believe, for as Isaiah also said, 40 “The Lord has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts” so their eyes cannot see, and their hearts cannot understand, and they cannot turn to me and let me heal them.” 41 Isaiah was referring to Jesus when he made this prediction, because he was given a vision of the Messiah’s glory. 42 Many people, including some of the Jewish leaders, believed in him. But they wouldn’t admit it to anyone because of their fear that the Pharisees would expel them from the synagogue. 43 For they loved human praise more than the praise of God.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

During every age in human history, people have refused to believe in God despite the evidence He has given us. Before Christ, they refused to believe in what God was going to do and after Christ they refused to believe in what He had done. Some of the people who had seen Christ raise Lazarus from the dead, refused to believe He was from God. Even though they knew Lazarus had been dead for 4 days. As a result of their unbelief, God hardened their hearts. Does this mean God intentionally prevents people from believing in Him? No, He simply confirms their own choices. They refuse to believe the evidence before them. After a lifetime of resisting God, people become so set in their ways that they will not even try to believe. Even if someone comes back from the dead, they will not believe. Their own pride is what prevents them. That is why pride is one of the deadliest sins. For such people, it is virtually impossible for them to believe in Christ because their hearts have been hardened by their own pride. Many believe but refuse to admit it. This is just as bad, and Jesus had strong words for these people. The Pharisees that believed Jesus was the Messiah refused to admit it for fear of being kicked out of the synagogue and afraid of losing their positions among the other religious leaders. When you feel the tug of God on your heart, don’t turn Him away or you may never have the chance to receive Him again. Today is the day of salvation and today is all you have.

Have a God Day!

2 Corinthians 3:7-18
7 That old system of law etched in stone led to death, yet it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. 8 Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory when the Holy Spirit is giving life? 9 If the old covenant, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new covenant, which makes us right with God! 10 In fact, that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new covenant. 11 So if the old covenant, which has been set aside, was full of glory, then the new covenant, which remains forever, has far greater glory. 12 Since this new covenant gives us such confidence, we can be very bold. 13 We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory fading away. 14 But the people’s minds were hardened, and even to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, a veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. 15 Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings ,their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. 16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, then the veil is taken away. 17 Now, the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, he gives freedom. 18 And all of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord. And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory even more.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.)1996.

Whoever turns to Jesus Christ is removed from darkness and brought into the Light. The veil is removed from their minds and the Holy Spirit of God now reflects the glory of God through them. We are brought into right relationship with God. He starts the process in us to become like Christ. We must keep our minds on this goal and continue on, “For in Him we live and move and have our being”, Acts 17:28. The New Covenant of God now states that His laws are written in our hearts and we want to do His will because of what He has done for us. We are filled with the joy of the Lord and one day we will rule with Him. This is the goal we keep in mind. There is nothing that we cannot do with Christ Jesus in us. We repeat Philippians 4:13 over and over, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” We have the freedom only peace with God can bring. If you do not feel this peace, then look at your relationship with Christ. Do you spend time with Him and discuss your life with Him? Do you take time to thank Him for all that He has done for you? If not, then maybe you should start there. Remember you are a child of the Light and as His child He wants you to know Him. Start today, take 10 minutes and spend time with Him singing, praying or reading His Word and see what a difference it will make.

Have a God Day!

John 5:19-30
19 Jesus replied, “I assure you, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son and tells him everything he is doing, and the Son will do far greater things than healing this man. You will be astonished at what he does. 21 He will even raise from the dead anyone he wants to, just as the Father does. 22 And the Father leaves all judgment to his Son, 23 so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. But if you refuse to honor the Son, then you are certainly not honoring the Father who sent him. 24 ‘I assure you, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.’ 25 ‘And I assure you that the time is coming, in fact it is here, when the dead will hear my voice, the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live. 26 The Father has life in himself, and he has granted his Son to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to judge all mankind because he is the Son of Man. 28 Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son, 29 and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to judgment. 30 But I do nothing without consulting the Father. I judge as I am told. And my judgment is absolutely just, because it is according to the will of God who sent me; it is not merely my own.’
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

Whoever has the Son, has life. Outside of Him, there is no life at all. To find the way to God, to understand the truth of God’s Word and to receive the gift of life, begins with repentance and faith. Believing that Jesus Christ is God and came to earth as a Man is the beginning of life. To repent means to turn from the former to the new. If you recognize the sin in your life and turn away from it and ask Jesus to forgive your sin, then you will spend eternity with Him. Because of the blood of Jesus Christ was shed for your sin and because you believe, you can be free from your sin. Only through the Son, can we have fellowship with the Father. Only through the power of God’s Spirit can we understand the truth. As we abide with Christ, His Spirit lives in us and we can have fellowship with the Father. We believe and hear the voice of God calling us to the life of Christ Jesus. We then become a child of the Most Holy God and we receive the peace that only He can give. Listen to the message Christ gave us and then believe, receive and live it.

Have a God Day!

Psalm 121
1 I look up to the mountains does my help come from there?
2 My help comes from the Lord, who made the heavens and the earth!
3 He will not let you stumble and fall; the one who watches over you will not sleep.
4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel never tires and never sleeps.
5 The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
6 The sun will not hurt you by day, nor the moon at night.
7 The Lord keeps you from all evil and preserves your life.
8 The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

This psalm expresses assurance and hope in God’s protection day and night. He not only made the hills but heaven and earth as well. We should never trust a lesser power than God Himself. Satan does have more power than humans and he does use it to turn people away from God. We see it everyday in this world. But even though his power is greater than ours, it is very limited and will someday end. We have the greater power God behind us because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. It is ours to use or not to use. Only those who believe in Him and walk with Him have access to this power. The is no greater power outside of God. Not only is He all powerful, He also watches over us and cares deeply for us. There is nothing that exists that God did not make. So there is nothing outside of God that can care for and protect us. In Him we are safe. And we never outgrow our need for God’s nurturing watch over our lives. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5)

John 14:6
6 Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

This verse will become more and more important to the followers of Jesus Christ as the last of days fast come to an end. The world is getting prepared for an inclusive religion that all who are left will be required to serve. Every belief will be accepted except faith in Christ Jesus. This one truth that Jesus Christ is the Way and the only Way to God, will become more and more a focal point for why Christianity is barbaric and out of date! Never mind that all of the other major religions also makes similar claims. The focus will be coming down hard by the world on the claims of Jesus Christ and His followers because it is the truth. There is no power to change lives or power to save people from their sins outside of Christ. This is the truth and as His followers, we cannot waiver on this truth. But this truth will become more and more unwelcome in a world that welcomes every other form of religion. We will even see in our lifetime that speaking the Word of God will be against the law, as it is now in Canada. James Dobson’s simulcast on marriage was banned in Canada because of their law against hate language. Because he spoke of man-woman marriage as being the only way, it was against the law to show in Canada. America is not far away from the same thing. Christians need to be prepared to communicate this one basic truth to the world around them. But it must be communicated with love. Without the love, that was so freely given to us, expressed with the truth, Christ will be rejected. Christians must work to change the world’s view of Jesus Christ and we must continue to work in His name no matter what the world may think, Continue to stay strong in Christ and show them the love that only He can bring no matter what.

Have a God Day!

Colossians 2:6-15
6 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to live in obedience to him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him and draw up nourishment from him, so you will grow in faith, strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with thanksgiving for all he has done. 8 Don’t let anyone lead you astray with empty philosophy and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the evil powers of this world, and not from Christ. 9 For in Christ the fullness of God lives in a human body, 10 and you are complete through your union with Christ. He is the Lord over every ruler and authority in the universe. 11 When you came to Christ, you were circumcised, but not by a physical procedure. It was a spiritual procedure the cutting away of your sinful nature. 12 For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to a new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. 13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ. He forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record that contained the charges against us. He took it and destroyed it by nailing it to Christ’s cross. 15 In this way, God disarmed the evil rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross of Christ.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

Receiving Christ as Lord of your life is the beginning of truth in your life. But you must continue to follow His leadership by being rooted, built up and strengthened in your faith. You live for Christ by committing your life and submitting your will to His, seeking to know Him, and by allowing the power of His Holy Spirit to work through you. When we have Christ, we have everything we need for salvation and for right living. This is your reason to give thanks. There is nothing you can be more thankful for than your relationship with Christ Jesus. Nothing else in your life matters outside of Christ. Because your commitment to God is written in your heart, not your body, Christ has set you free from your evil desires. They no longer rule or control you. God removes your old sinful nature and gives you a new nature. Never stop thanking and praising Him for His love and use the righteousness He died to give you by living for Him!.

Have a God Day!

John 9:1-5
9 As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. 2 “Teacher,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it a result of his own sins or those of his parents?” 3 “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “He was born blind so the power of God could be seen in him. 4 All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent me, because there is little time left before the night falls and all work comes to an end. 5 But while I am still here in the world, I am the light of the world.”
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

Did you know you have an assignment from God the Father. There are specific things He has set for you to accomplish in your lifetime. Do you know what they are? Have you ever thought about it before? Jesus stated that all of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned to us by the One who sent Him. When we stand before Him at the Bema seat (judgment seat for the righteous dead) of Christ we will be judged on the tasks set before us. This judgment is not about sin, for everyone at this judgment will be redeemed and the Blood of Christ will cover all sin. But we will stand before Him and He will review all of the talents we were given and how we used them to further the work of Christ. The most important thing will be the examination of the heart. For whom did you do the things you did. Was it out of love for Christ or out of love for self. Yes, Christians can do very good things for themselves while looking like they are being done in the name of Christ. Go before the Father and ask for wisdom, He will not deny you. He will show you the work set before you, it is where your heart lies. Ask Him for wisdom and power to do it in His Name and for His Glory and your work will not be burned up when you stand before Christ, but will go through the fire as pure as gold.

Have a God Day!
