Hebrews 4:12-16

12 For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are. 13 Nothing in all creation can hide from him. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes. This is the God to whom we must explain all that we have done. 14 That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to him and never stop trusting him. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same temptations we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it.

When we continue to do the things we don’t want to do, we become less like Christ and more like the world. And none of us can say this does not happen. We are all alike, because we live in a world of sin. On a constant basis, we are being pulled from all directions. And the pull is away from becoming more like Christ. We must swim against the stream and do the un-natural. When we come before God and when we read His word, it cuts through all of our excuses and bargaining. It exposes us for who we really are and that makes most of us uncomfortable, so we tend stay away. No reading, no prayer, and we grow weaker and weaker. We unplug from the only source of power that will enable us to live effectively in this world of sin. Jesus understands. He has been where we are, He has been human and knows our weaknesses, and yet He loved us and died that we may be reconciled to God our Father. And right now, He is standing before the Father and interceding for you to plug into Him. Swim against the flow and become connected to the Source of Life and see what a difference it makes for you.

Have a God Day!
