Psalm 121 1 I look up to the mountains does my help come from there? 2 My help comes from the Lord, who made the heavens and the earth! 3 He will not let you stumble and fall; the one who watches over you will not sleep. 4 Indeed, he who watches over Israel never tires and never sleeps. 5 The Lord himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. 6 The sun will not hurt you by day, nor the moon at night. 7 The Lord keeps you from all evil and preserves your life. 8 The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

This psalm expresses assurance and hope in God’s protection day and night. He not only made the hills but heaven and earth as well. We should never trust a lesser power than God Himself. Satan does have more power than humans and he does use it to turn people away from God. We see it everyday in this world.  But even though his power is greater than ours, it is very limited and will someday end. We have the greater power God behind us because of what Jesus did for us on the cross.  It is ours to use or not to use.  Only those who believe in Him and walk with Him have access to this power. The is no greater power outside of God. Not only is He all powerful, He also watches over us and cares deeply for us. There is nothing that exists that God did not make. So there is nothing outside of God that can care for and protect us. In Him we are safe. And we never outgrow our need for God’s nurturing watch over our lives. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5)

Have a God Day!
