Matthew 6:19-21
19 “Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where they can be eaten by moths and get rusty, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 Store your treasures in heaven, where they will never become moth-eaten or rusty and where they will be safe from thieves. 21 Wherever your treasure is, there your heart and thoughts will also be.”

Is it good to remember that everything we accumulate in this world will someday disappear.  Our homes ,cars, jobs, everything we value will be gone.  Sometimes we put too much value in these things and they are only for this world.  Keep in mind that what God finds of value has nothing to do with what you can accomplish.  It is only what He can accomplish through you that will make it through the fire.  Revelation 19:8 tells us, “She (Bride of Christ) is permitted to wear the finest white linen. (Fine linen represents the good deeds done by the people of God.)”  What we do in this world in the name of Christ under His direction and through His power will be the only “things” that we will take into the next world.

So where is your focus?  Obviously, we all have to live and work and eat in this world, but that should not be our primary focus.  Outside of providing for yourself and your family, what are you doing in the name of Christ?  Pray about it and get to know the One who died for you.  If you focus on knowing Him and His Word, the rest will come.  If you are walking with Him and hearing His voice, you will do the actions that He directs.  This is what you will take with you. Build up your treasures where your heart is.  But make Christ the center of your heart and thoughts.

Have a God day!
