James 1:5-8
5 If you need wisdom-if you want to know what God wants you to do-ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 They can’t make up their minds. They waver back and forth in everything they do.

When there is a choice between knowledge and emotion, emotion wins.  People will always choose emotion over wisdom.  They would rather “feel good” than understand.  When we go to church, we do not want to hear about what it is we need to change, we want to “feel good.”  But where is the learning and where is the process of righteousness if all we do is “feel good?”  How can we be in the will of God if we do not know what that is?  In order for us to move forward becoming more like Christ, we need to know what that is.  Each of us has changes we need to make in our lives.  It will always be that way.  The only person who does not need to change is dead.  Sanctification begins at salvation, but is completed at death.  How will we know what it means to show those around us who Christ is if we do not know ourselves?  Seek to know more of who God is and how He is working in your life.  Seek wisdom and not just the “feel good” message.  Seeking God and His wisdom for your life will ultimately be the best place to be.  It will give the most joy in the long run and not just a “feel good” moment.

Have a God Day!
