Jeremiah 29:11-14
11 ‘For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me. 14 I will be found by you,” says the Lord.

On those days when past failures keep coming to mind, remember that God has a future for you. You cannot move forward while looking over your shoulder to your past all the time.  God never consults your past to determine your future, why should you?  When you cannot leave the past, your future will not be what God intended.  Focusing your thoughts on your past will determine what your actions for today will be.  Your thoughts become your actions.  Your actions become your habits and your habits become your character.  Do you really want your character to be focused in your past failures? Philippians 3:13 states, “I am focusing all my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.”

When thoughts about failure come to mind, resist them and press forward to the good things God has for you.  God always has a future for you and He always has a plan for good and not for disaster.  Keep your thoughts focused on the promises of the Word of God.  Turn your mind to think about the good things the Word teaches.  Seek the Lord with all your heart, mind and strength and He will be found.  And when God is found, there is peace and joy.

Have a God Day!
