1John 5:13-15
13 I write this to you who believe in the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life. 14 And we can be confident that he will listen to us whenever we ask him for anything in line with his will. 15 And if we know he is listening when we make our requests, we can be sure that he will give us what we ask for.

Our eternal life in Christ is based on facts and not feelings.  For those who believe in Christ as the Son of God and the Son of Man, we will spend eternity with Him.  As we walk this world waiting for Him to return, our position in Christ is secure whether we feel it or not. Being in Christ means that we live in His will and under His direction.  So when we pray, we are in line with His will. It is not demanding what we want, but seeking what He wants and then praying according to His will. We discuss with Him what He wants for us.  One way to know if we are praying in line with the will of God is to use the Bible as a guide.  For example, I had a friend who was not married, but wanted a friend just to live with outside of marriage and asked me to pray for her to find someone. My response is that I cannot pray someone into a sin situation.  God does not work that way.  If I come to Him with a request that is outside of His will and Word, I know that prayer will not be the answered I want. God will hear me, but the answer will be no because it is outside of His will. It may seem harsh, but if you are seeking something out side of God’s will or Word, it will never happen.  Keep this in mind as you go before Him with your requests and know with your head that you are secure in His love and will spend eternity with Him.

Have a God Day!
