Isaiah 35:3-10
3 With this news, strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage those who have weak knees. 4 Say to those who are afraid, “Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.” 5 And when he comes, he will open the eyes of the blind and unstop the ears of the deaf. 6 The lame will leap like a deer, and those who cannot speak will shout and sing! Springs will gush forth in the wilderness, and streams will water the desert. 7 The parched ground will become a pool, and springs of water will satisfy the thirsty land. Marsh grass and reeds and rushes will flourish where desert jackals once lived. 8 And a main road will go through that once deserted land. It will be named the Highway of Holiness. Evil-hearted people will never travel on it. It will be only for those who walk in God’s ways; fools will never walk there. 9 Lions will not lurk along its course, and there will be no other dangers. Only the redeemed will follow it. 10 Those who have been ransomed by the Lord will return to Jerusalem, singing songs of everlasting joy. Sorrow and mourning will disappear, and they will be overcome with joy and gladness.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

Isaiah is writing about what the earth will be like after the Second Coming of Christ. He had a vision of perfection on the earth when Christ is Ruler. As Christians today, we are all on the Highway of Holiness. Our highway is the continuous process to become more like Christ. We continue forward and put our faith into action everyday and as we do, we become stronger and we become more of Christ. This passage from Isaiah gives us hope for the future and power for the present. As we learn and study more of the Word of God, we become empowered to live the righteousness of Christ in a world of sin. Matthew 7: 13, 14 tell us, “You can enter Gods Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad; and its gate is wide for the many who choose the easy way. But the gateway to life is small, and the road is narrow, and only a few ever find it.”  There is a highway that leads to eternal life with God, but only those who believe in the work of the Cross of Christ will ever find it. It leads to righteousness and truth and peace for those who are on it. When Christians are ruling with Christ during the Millennium, will I see you on the Highway of Holiness? The decisions you make today will determine. And only you can decide where you will be. Don’t delay, make Christ your priority and seek Him with your whole heart and meet me on the Highway of Holiness!

Have a God Day!

Good Morning!

John 15:1-8
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more. 3 You have already been pruned for greater fruitfulness by the message I have given you. 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful apart from me.”  5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who parts from me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7 But if you stay joined to me and my words remain in you, you may ask any request you like, and it will be granted! 8 My true disciples produce much fruit. This brings great glory to my Father.”
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

As long as you are attached to the Branch of Christ Jesus, He will continue to require more fruit from you. You will never get to a point in your Christian walk where you have learned enough. Christ will always want you to grow more and to become more like Him. And you will never fully become Christ as long as you live in this world. You live in a corruptible body and it cannot produce pure fruit. But there is much to gain with what you have. And Christ will always urge you to do more, be more, give more and love more. When you stop pushing up the hill, you will roll backwards. And it is the power of the Spirit God within you that keeps you pushing up the hill. Life is the hill. This side of heaven you will never see perfection but as long as you are attached to the Branch, you w1ll cont1nue to grow. It is when you remove yourself from the Branch that you wither and die. Stay connected to the Branch by remaining a part of the Body of Christ. The body is made of many parts but Christ is the head and all have a function and purpose. Everyone is required to use what we have been given by Christ to further His purpose. The purpose of the Great Commission and that is that none should perish but all have the gift of life through Christ Jesus.

Have a God Day!

1 John 2:1-6
My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if you do sin, there is someone to plead for you before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who pleases God completely. 2 He is the sacrifice for our sins. He takes away not only our sins but the sins of all the world.  3 And how can we be sure that we belong to him? By obeying his commandments.  4 If someone says, “I belong to God,” but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and does not live in the truth. 5 But those who obey God’s word really do love him. That is the way to know whether or not we live in him. 6 Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Christ did.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

To love God means more than just being enthusiastic about Him.  Our lives must show that He is our God.  Loving God means doing the work He gives us and applying His instructions to every aspect of our lives.  Once we have received His instructions, we must be diligent in carrying them out.  Those who love God are lead by God.  Because we have Jesus Christ as the sacrifice for our sins, we can move into the work of God.  All of us have sins from our past that will make us feel unworthy for doing the work of God.  But don’t let those sins, that are forgiven and forgotten, prevent you from moving forward into the work that God has called you.  It would be like telling God that He doesn’t know what He is doing by putting you into this work.  Everything that God does is perfect.  You need to show that you love God by hearing His voice and then doing the work He has instructed you to do.  Rahab did not allow her past to keep her from the new role that God had given to her.  Joshua 2 tells us that she was a prostitute, but that she had a heart open to God.  The only thing she knew about God was all the things He had done for the nation of Israel.  She did not let her very sinful past prevent her from doing the work God had called her to.  Your sins have been taken away; do not let them keep you from obeying God’s commandments.  Those who obey God’s Word really do love Him.

Have a God Day!

Ephesians 1:9-14
9 God’s secret plan has now been revealed to us; it is a plan centered on Christ, designed long ago according to his good pleasure. 10 And this is his plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ-everything in heaven and on earth. 11 Furthermore, because of Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us from the beginning, and all things happen just as he decided long ago. 12 God’s purpose was that we who were the first to trust in Christ should praise our glorious God. 13 And now you also have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago. 14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

Because we know that Jesus Christ came the first time, we know He will come again.  99.9% of the Bible has already happened.  There is just a small percent yet to take place.  Long ago, God gave promises to His people about things that were to happen long in the future.  Through His prophets God told us everything that was going to happen long before it did.  And everything happened just as He said it would and it happened in His time.  The Old Testament is full of the prophecies God promised His people. And today we have the promise of God that He will bring everything together under the authority of Christ, everything on earth and in heaven.  This is yet to happen, but we can have confident peace and assurance that Jesus Christ will rule on this earth, just as He said He would. But before we get to that time, God’s purpose for each of us today is to know of His love for us through what Jesus Christ has already done.  He died on the cross for every sin ever committed.  Believing in Him and then receiving His grace is God’s purpose for every human being.  Before Christ comes to rule on earth, God wants Him to rule in our hearts.  Where are you today with the Lordship of Jesus Christ?  Does He rule in your heart?  Open up to His gift of love and receive from Him the love that is waiting for you.  Only by believing and then asking for His forgiveness will any of us rule with Christ when He does come back?  Know the peace of God by accepting Him now and rule with Him when He returns.

Have a God Day!

Romans 8:35-39
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death? 36 (Even the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.  38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away. 39 Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

It is impossible to go beyond the love of God.  There is no disaster, no calamity, no problem or sin that can put you outside of the love of God our Father.  So many times in our life we feel las though God is not there and that He does not hear us, but we are never outside of His love.  Even when we reject Him and sin His love is not removed.  The love of God is completely beyond our comprehension.  Paul prayed in Ephesians 3:17-19, “And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”  The greatest expression of the love of God is through His Son Christ Jesus.  He was rejected and despised, yet He loved us enough to die for every person.  This love is so great it can encompass anything that may happen to you in this life.  Pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit to grow in your understanding of the love of God.  Knowing how much God loves you will keep you focused on Him.  His love will keep you at peace as you go through trials and problems.  It will keep you close to God and keep you on the path of righteousness He has set you on.  Know His love and you know God.

Have a God Day!

1 John 1:5-10
5 This is the message he has given us to announce to you: God is light and there is no darkness in him at all. 6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness. We are not living in the truth. 7 But if we are living in the light of God’s presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from every sin.  8 If we say we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from every wrong. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

The statement that “God is light” means that God is perfectly holy.  In the dark, good and evil look alike; in the light they can be clearly distinguished.  Just as darkness cannot exist in the presence of light, sin cannot exist in the presence of a holy God.  If we want to have fellowship with God, we must put aside our sinful ways.  To claim that we belong to Him and then continue in known sin is hypocrisy.  We can not be a part of the Light and continue to live in sin if we want fellowship with God.  All of us sin and will continue to, but to have the presence of God with us, we must be cleansed from our sin.  At conversion all of our sins past, present, and future are forgiven. so at death, we will be with Him. Yet even though we are Christians, we still need to confess and turn from our sin, not to gain God’s acceptance or salvation but to remove the barrier to fellowship with Him while we are here on earth.  To say we have no sin is to call God a lair and then there is no fellowship with Him.  And without fellowship with God, we have no relationship with Him.  And without a relationship with God, there is no growth, there is no sanctification.  We will stay who we are and not become more like Christ.  We can still be saved, but without the growth and fellowship, we will continue in our sin and grow further away from God.  Confess your sins and grow in your fellowship with God your Father through the work Christ Jesus did for you.

Matthew 14:15-21
15 That evening the disciples came to him and said, “This is a desolate place, and it is getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves.”  16 But Jesus replied, “That isn’t necessary you feed them.”  17 “Impossible!” they exclaimed. “We have only five loaves of bread and two fish!”  18 “Bring them here,” he said. 19 Then he told the people to sit down on the grass. And he took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and asked God’s blessing on the food. Breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave some of the bread and fish to each disciple, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20 They all ate as much as they wanted, and they picked up twelve baskets of leftovers. 21 About five thousand men had eaten from those five loaves, in addition to all the women and children!
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL:Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

After Jesus feed over 5000 men and many more women and children, they wanted to make him King. The crowds had been following Jesus and He was healing them and now He feeds them food. Many were there not because they believed He was the Son of God, but because He gave them provisions and healed them. They did not belive because of Who He was but because of what He did. Imagine today if every believer received everything they ever prayed for instantly. The lines to get into church would be so long, there would not be enough churches to hold them. Many would come not because of their love for God but because they could get what they wanted. God does not want us to come to Him because of what He can do for us, He wants our hearts because we love Him. This is the true test of our faith; will we continue to believe even in our pain and sorrow? Don’t let your unanswered pray turn you away from the love of Christ. He has a plan in mind for you and may use your bad circumstance to bring you to a greater place. Trust in Him and believe not because of what He can do for you but because you know of His love for you. Make your relationship with Jesus Christ the most important thing in your life even in your sickness or pain. It is your heart and love He wants because you know He first loved you.

Have a God Day!

1 Timothy 1:12-17
12 How thankful I am to Christ Jesus our Lord for considering me trustworthy and appointing me to serve him, 13 even though I used to scoff at the name of Christ. I hunted down his people, harming them in every way I could. But God had mercy on me because I did it in ignorance and unbelief. 14 Oh, how kind and gracious the Lord was! He filled me completely with faith and the love of Christ Jesus. 15 This is a true saying, and everyone should believe it: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners and I was the worst of them all. 16 But that is why God had mercy on me, so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life. 17 Glory and honor to God forever and ever. He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL:Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

This is a very important verse of Scripture because it affirms that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. He didn’t come to be the greatest teacher the world has ever known, although He was. He didn’t come to set the best moral example, but He did. He came into the world to save sinners. When you give your testimony make sure that you don’t tell people how wonderful you are or all you have accomplished. Tell them you were a sinner and that Christ saved you. That is what is important. When Paul says he was the chief of sinners, he is speaking the truth. He was the chief of sinners; he blasphemed the Lord Jesus. But, Paul says, I’ve been saved. The Lord Jesus came to save sinners, and if you say, I don’t think Christ can save me I’m the worst, you are wrong. Paul is the chief of sinners, and the chief of sinners has already been saved. So you will be able to be saved if you want to be. The decision rests with you. All you need do is turn to Christ, and He’ll do the rest.

1 Corinthians 15:21-28
21 So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, Adam, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man, Christ. 22 Everyone dies because all of us are related to Adam, the first man. But all who are related to Christ, the other man, will be given new life. 23 But there is an order to this resurrection: Christ was raised first; then when Christ comes back, all his people will be raised. 24 After that the end will come, when he will turn the Kingdom over to God the Father, having put down all enemies of every kind. 25 For Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet. 26 And the last enemy to be destroyed is death. 27 For the Scriptures say, God has given him authority over all things. (Of course, when it says authority over all things, it does not include God himself, who gave Christ his authority.) 28 Then, when he has conquered all things, the Son will present himself to God, so that God, who gave his Son authority over all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

The work of Christ, yet to come, is to defeat all evil on earth. First, He defeated sin and death on the cross, and in the end He will defeat Satan and all evil once and for all time. World events may seem out of control, and justice may seem to have vanished, but God is still in control. He is allowing evil to remain for a time until He it is time to send Jesus to earth again. Then the end will come and Satan will have no more authority to ruin the lives of the deceived. Christ will completely defeat him and present to God the Father a perfect world. Let the knowledge of the coming King give you peace in these times of uncertainty.  God is still on the throne no matter who controls our country.

Psalm 34:8-10
8 Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who trust in him! 9 Let the Lord’s people show him reverence, for those who honor him will have all they need. 10 Even strong young lions sometimes go hungry, but those who trust in the Lord will never lack any good thing.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

Trusting God when nothing seems to happen is difficult. But is harder to live with the consequences of taking matters into our own hands. Resist the temptation to think that God has forgotten you. Have patience and courage to wait for God to act. It is easier to live in need of answer than to live in regret of a decision.
