Philippians 4:4-9
4 Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again rejoice! 5 Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. 6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. 8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, let me say one more thing as I close this letter. Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and heard from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you.

Worry is contrary to faith in God. When we worry, we are saying, “God you can’t help me!” It takes practice not to worry. Every effort must be put into turning our worry into times of prayer. When we worry, we are to take that concern and give it to our Lord Jesus.  He died to give us the right to come directly before God with any concern and ask for His help. Paul goes on to give more advice about how not to worry by fixing our minds on things that are true and right and honorable. What we put into our minds determines our words and our actions. When we worry, our words will be negative and whinny. But when we fill our minds with the truth of God’s Word, our words and our actions will be positive and hopeful. Remove yourself from any situation that causes you to think impure or negative worrisome thoughts. Replace that time with the Word of God and let His Holy Spirit fill you with the ultimate joy of having Christ in you.

Have a God Day!
