2 Corinthians 10:3-6
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

Is there sin in your life that you continually battle over and over? Are there things that are not of God in your life that you have felt a complete loss of control over? Do you continue in sin even though you know this is not what God would have you do? Then you are in a spiritual battle and Satan has set up a stronghold in your mind. The source of all spiritual battles find their root in your mind. You have Satan’s way of thinking and not God’s, he has set up a stronghold and has divided off or separated God’s Word and set up his lies in your mind concerning this issue. A stronghold is a mind set that holds you hostage and you believe you are powerless to over come this area of sin in your life. So you say, “I can’t quit smoking, I can’t help it, I drink too much. I can’t, I can’t, it will never happen, I will always be this waya”.  Anytime you hear these words out of your mouth or in your mind, you are dealing with a stronghold Satan has set up in your mind. When you say you can’t, Satan has made a home in your mind. You need a new way of thinking. You need to recognize what thoughts are of God and what thoughts are not. Paul is telling us to take every thought captive. Remember, you are dealing with principalities and not flesh. This means they are not human, they are fallen angels. When you recognize a stronghold in your life, take power over it. Christ gave you the power with His victory on the cross and He has transferred this power to you. But Satan will keep your powerless by not recognizing your position in Christ. It is not our power, but the power of Christ in us. Recognize the stronghold, and take power over it in the name of Jesus Christ.

Have a God Day!
