Ephesians 6:10-18
10 A final word: Be strong with the Lord’s mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. 12 For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms. 13 Use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere

What does it mean to fight the enemy?  How do we know we are under attack?  As a child of God, you are always the object of Satan’s attacks.  He will stop at nothing to either turn you away from God or at the least make you an ineffective Christian.  Satan is still on a leash and he can only do what God will allow, but he still is a powerful adversary.  We have nothing to fear because God has promised in Philippians 1:6, “…Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  But even though we are under God’s protection, we can still lose a battle if we do not put on the whole armor of God.  The battle takes place in our minds and if Satan can win here we will be defeated as a witness for Christ.  If he can get us to think negative thoughts, we will be depressed and angry and useless to God.  The mind is the battle field but it is also the source of our power. When we think negative self defeating thoughts, we can stop them by picking up our sword and fighting them by putting them out of our mind.  We remind ourselves of the promises of God and keep repeating what we know is true.  We stand firm on the Word and we pray in every occasion when we feel defeated or unworthy.  God has given us the tools to win and we need to pick them up and use them.  We feel nothing without the thought behind it and as we feel, we will behave.  To change your behavior, change your thinking and you will feel better.  You have the Word of God and His Word is the only thing that is true.

Have a God Day!
