Ephesians 3:14-17
14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

So many today are walking with pain in their hearts.  The pain of love never given, or love never returned, or love that did not meet our expectations.  Mothers and fathers that have hurt us by not being the parent we needed.  Some come from very abusive parents and struggle with that lack of love all of their lives.  Others have been through divorce or death and have been abandoned by someone who promised to love them and didn’t.  We all have had people in our lives that have hurt us deeply.  And yet Christ is in those of us who have accepted His Gift of grace.  So where is this love of God when we are feeling the pain from past or present lack of love?  It is in us and all around us and holding us and loving us perfectly.  Our mind is just telling us differently, and we are listening to this voice.  But this is not the voice of truth.  And because that pain can run so deep in our hearts and minds, it is easy for Satan to remind us we are not lovable. We are expecting perfect love from imperfect people and they always let us down.  Whatever your situation is today or whatever lack of love you are feeling, remember the One who loves with our error.  Christ Jesus died that you might know how much God loves you.  Get over past hurt from those who could not love you perfectly.  Yes, it was bad, and what happened was wrong, but get over it and let the love of God wash that pain away.  If Christ is in you, then you already have the most awesome, powerful, perfect love any person could ever have.  There is no parent, no man or woman or child, who can or ever will love you like God does.  So let Him!  Stop looking for the love only God can give from those who cannot.  Pray for the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. Stop expecting people to fill that void that only God can fill. Whatever your situation, there is no person on earth who can give you what you really need. Pray to experience the love of Christ, feel the love of Christ and know more of His perfect love.  When you are thinking about a past hurt or feeling alone, remember you will only be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from knowing the love of God.

To help you, speak these words aloud everyday for the rest of your life if have to, but speak them and you will know and feel them: They are the voice of Truth!
