Proverbs 3:5-8
 5.  Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
 6.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
 7.  Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.
 8.  It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
 King James Version

There are three types of suffering in this world.  There is common suffering which happens to all of us because we live in a world under a curse.  Everything, human, animal, and plant gets sick and eventually dies.  This curse happened when man sinned against God.  We are all born under the curse and therefore start to die the second we are born.  No one is exempt from this and all of us will get sick and some suffer more than others, but all suffer.  We have to live within these conditions until we are with Him.  We can receive healing and protection from this suffering, but we have to ask God and sometimes He heals and sometimes He does not.  It is according to His will.  The second type of suffering is because of the consequences of our own sin.  Our sin can affect our bodies or any aspect of our life.  If we spend all of our money on the wrong things and do not pay our bills and take care of our responsibilities, we will suffer.   If we smoke or over eat, our bodies will suffer.  Sickness can be caused by our sin, because we do not take care of our body.  But we can do all of the right things and still suffer because we are under the curse.  The third type of suffering is because you are a follower of Christ.  Every year around 5 million people are killed just because they believe in Jesus Christ.  1 Peter 4:14 tells us, “If you suffer for the name of Christ, you are blessed; because the Spirit of glory and the Spirit of God is in you.” Not many of us suffer for the name of Christ in this country, but many around the world do.  Most of our suffering is because of our own bad choices or because we live in a fallen world.  The only type of suffering we can control is our sin.  No one can make us sin, that is completely our choice.  Satan may tempt us to sin, but he cannot make us do it.  If you are suffering in your body today seek the will of God and ask Him for healing.  Ask Him also to show you what His will is during this time of suffering.  If you are suffering because of wrong choices, ask Him to show you how to change and ask Him for help.  God will always be with you and He will never leave you no matter what type of suffering you are going through.  Completely trust Him with all of your heart and do not lean to your own understanding.  But seek the will of God in all that you do and whatever situation you are in.

 Have a God Day!
