Philippians 4:4-9
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

What you put into your mind determines your words and your actions.  It is true that if garbage goes in, garbage will come out.  Paul is telling you to program your mind with thoughts that are pure and true.  If you are not thinking like a child of God, but are thinking as the world thinks, you are of the world.  But those who have accepted God’s gift of grace through Christ Jesus, belong to another world.  Your thoughts should be of His world.  Your thoughts should be of the Kingdom of God.  As the stated in the Lord’s prayer in Luke 11:2, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”  the Lord’s will is done in His kingdom and those who belong to Him need to keep their in thoughts in His kingdom.  Examine what you are putting into your mind through books, television, conversations, movies, and magazines.  Do they fit into the will of God?  If not, then remove them and replace them with the things that are of the will of God.  Above all read His Word and pray.  Ask God to help you identify thoughts that are not of Him and then for power to stop thinking them and replace those thoughts with the truth of His Word. It will take practice, but it can be done for those who know the will of God and have the power of His Spirit to guard and help them.

Have a God Day!
