Psalm 23:1-4
1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake
The Holy Bible, New King James Version, (Nashville, Tennessee: Thomas Nelson, Inc.) 1982.

When we allow God, our Shepherd, to guide us we have contentment.  When we choose to sin and go our own way, however, we cannot blame God for the environment we have created for ourselves. Sometimes the consequences of our choices are not comfortable. A lot of the time our troubles are caused because we have made a bad choice.  And it is our choice and not God that has caused our situation.  Our Shepherd knows the “green pastures” and the “still waters” that will keep and restore us.  God knows what will work the best for us and even though we may not understand, it is His wisdom we should depend.  It is a matter of trusting Him to know what is best for us, even though we can not see it.  We will reach this place of peace only by following Him obediently.  Rebelling against the Shepherd’s leading is actually rebelling against our own best interests.  We must remember this the next time we want our own way rather than the Shepherd’s way.

Have a God Day!
