Colossians 1:9-14
9 So we have continued praying for you ever since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you a complete understanding of what he wants to do in your lives, and we ask him to make you wise with spiritual wisdom. 10 Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and you will continually do good, kind things for others. All the while, you will learn to know God better and better. 11 We also pray that you will be strengthened with his glorious power so that you will have all the patience and endurance you need. May you be filled with joy, 12 always thanking the Father, who has enabled you to share the inheritance that belongs to God’s holy people, who live in the light. 13 For he has rescued us from the one who rules in the kingdom of darkness, and he has brought us into the Kingdom of his dear Son. 14 God has purchased our freedom with his blood and has forgiven all our sins.

All Christians want complete understanding of what God wants them to do in their lives. We all seek to be wise with spiritual wisdom. But that is as far as many go, just the wanting. Most Christians know that they should be growing and becoming more like Christ as each day goes by but aren’t sure how to achieve it. Many make the mistake of looking at the overall perfection of Christ and know that they can never achieve that and just don’t even try. We will never, in this life, reach perfection, so why even bother. This attitude will hold back the power of Christ working within you to become more like Him. It is God’s plan for every Christian to work at becoming more like Him. No one can say, “I’m not sure what God wants me to do with my life.” The plan is the same for all of us, “Become more like Christ!” Start with very small steps. We all know that we are to read His Word and spend time in prayer. Start by simply taking 5-10 minutes a day doing this and when it becomes a habit, slowly increase. As you spend time in the Word, you will find that you will want to do so. Listen only to Christian music during your day, this will keep you in atmosphere of worship. Keep a very short prayer list and pray everyday. When one is answered, add another. Keep it short and simple. Take small baby steps and see what a difference it can make. Your effort will pay off as God will continue to strengthen you. You will start the journey to become more like Christ.  You will never complete it while you are here on earth, but you should be making progress.

Have a God Day!

Romans 8:26-30
26 And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don’t even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groaning that cannot be expressed in words. 27 And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with Gods own will. 28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. 29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn, with many brothers and sisters. 30 And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And he gave them right sta11ding with himself, and he promised them his glory.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

Are you facing circumstances that you can not understand? Are you going through some difficulty that doesn’t make any sense? Then you are not alone. This world can be very difficult at times for all of us. But God is good! He has given us tools to get through those difficult times in our lives. Romans 8:28, “All things will work for good according to His purpose” is probably the best known scripture outside of John 3:16. It states all things, not some things, not a few things, but ALL things. When we are facing discouragement, it is sometimes because we have not followed God’s path or we are under attack from Satan. Almost always, but sometimes, we face problems just because we live in this world. We are not home yet, we are not in perfection yet. Sometimes we suffer because of our own bad decisions. God does not stop us from making stupid mistakes, but He will help us work through the consequences of them. What ever the reason is for your pain trust that God has you in His hand and He will see you through. He will work all things for good. We need to hold onto Jesus, hold onto His promises. We continue on reading His Word and talking to Him about our needs. The Bible tells us that He has the very hairs of our head number, so there isn’t anything He does not know about us and He care about us. Hold onto this verse and God will see you through!

Have a God Day!
