Good Morning!

Matthew 23:23-24
23 “How terrible it will be for you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest part of your income, but you ignore the important things of the law-justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but you should not leave undone the more important things. 24 Blind guides! You strain your water so you won’t accidentally swallow a gnat; then you swallow a camel!”
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

Many Christians today do not tithe. Many only give as they want, but they are missing out on a tremendous blessing from God. The argument is that tithing was only for the Old Testament times, because it was not taught in the New Testament. But as you read this scripture today you can see that Jesus Himself stated that, “You should tithe…” Those who do not tithe use 2 Corinthians 8:11, “…give whatever you can according to what you have,” as the scripture that supports not having to tithe. But Paul was not talking about tithing; he was referring to an offering that was above the tithe that the Corinthians were giving to other Christians who were going through hard times. When we have the Word of Jesus Christ stating we should tithe, why would you question it. Tithing is only giving back to God what He has already given to us. Malachi 3:11 states, “…”if you do, say the Lord Almighty, ‘I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in!’…” If you find yourself operating under a closed window of heaven you will be lacking and struggling financially. If this is you, then start tithing 10% of all the money you receive and tithe on the gross, not the net. If you say that you can not afford to tithe, the Word of God says that you can not afford not to. God tells us to test Him and see if He will not pour such a blessing that you will not be able to contain! Tithing is for all Christians today because Jesus gives us the directive that we should! And if you love Him you will open Him.

Have a God Day!
