1 John 3:7-10
7 Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it is because they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. 8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows they belong to the Devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy these works of the Devil. 9 Those who have been born into God’s family do not sin, because God’s life is in them. So they can’t keep on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the Devil. Anyone who does not obey God’s commands and does not love other Christians does not belong to God.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

There is a difference between committing a sin and continuing in sin. Every Christian will sometimes sin. but they do not cherish a particular sin and then choose to continue to commit that sin. A child of God who commits a sin repents, confesses, and finds forgiveness. The power of God in the life of a Christian gives them victory over that sin and it is does not become a habit. But those who say they belong to Him and then continue to sin because they are not sorry for what they are doing are not of Him. They may even use the Word of GOd to justify their sin, but this does not make it right. It only adds to their own judgment. Thus, this person never confesses and never receives forgiveness, Such a person is in opposition to God, no matter what religious claims they may make. This type of person is in our churches today. They are making claims to belong to God while they continue and even glorify evil sins, such as homosexuality and abortion. Don’t be fooled. Matthew 7:21-23 states, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” Just because our society has declared sin to be good does mean it is. We must continue to look to the Word of God as our guide and not the desires of man. Only those who do right because of the righteousness of Christ in them will be with Him throughout eternity. The person who does not believe and live the Word of God will not enter into His rest.

Ephesians 3:14-19
14 When I think of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you mighty inner strength through his Holy Spirit. 17 And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Holy Bible, New Living Translation, (Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.) 1996.

When a person feels loved, they feel secure and confident. So much of what troubles people today is the lack of feeling loved by someone. So many go through life looking for this sense of security that only God can provide. Many social problems are because of a lack of love. This is an effect of sin. It is not what God wanted for us, but it is what we choose. Sin separates us from God and from knowing His love for us. To have even a tiny glimmer of understanding of His love is to have a life filled with power and peace. That is why Jesus Christ came, that we might know the love of God. Even though we will never fully understand it in this life, we can know that it is there. But it is a choice that each person will make in life. For those who do know of the love God, He asks that we tell others and that we grow our roots deeper into Christ to become stronger. Do you know the love that God has for you? Do you know that nothing can ever separate you from that love? Think about this truth, plant it deep into your mind and continue to grow in that love and you will know a peace that the world will not understand.

Have a God Day!
