Romans 12:17-21
17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible. 19 Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God. For it is written, “I will take vengeance; I will repay those who deserve it,” says the Lord. 20 Instead, do what the Scriptures say: “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink, and they will be ashamed of what they have done to you.” 21 Don’t let evil get the best of you, but conquer evil by doing good.

It is our nature to want to strike back when we have been the victim of evil. We want them to hurt as much as we have been hurt. But this is not our responsibility, it belongs to God. God never wants us to repay evil for evil. Because He knows that when we do, we become evil. We become a judge and we now function outside of God. He has told us that He will take vengeance and we need to trust Him to do it His way and in His time. Remember that we are not above evil; we have done wrong to someone at some point in our lives. We deserve to be punished for the things we have done. But God in His grace has forgiven us by the Blood of Jesus Christ. And don’t those who have done you wrong deserve the same? We are to forgive and to love and let God deal with the vengeance. But to forgive does not mean we are to continue to allow someone to keep abusing us. We are to forgive, but we are also free to move on. Do not let evil continue. It is love to also be removed from a situation that is not healthy. Ask God for direction and move in His will. Forgive and love but do not allow evil to continue.

Have a God Day!
